A Message From the Founder

The suburbs can be isolating for anyone, but especially for writers. Even if you have a desk or a room of your own, there’s a dish to be washed, a bill to be paid. Or as someone once said, "the great siren call of the washing machine.”

It has always been a dream of mine to find a place in the ’burbs where writers could go to write quietly while being in community. A place with literary events, like workshops and readings.

I never found that place. So when the opportunity presented itself, I decided to make it happen. What was formerly The Rectangle Studio & Gallery, has now been transformed to the space I dreamed of. I hope you will feel as welcome and productive as I do there. This space is for anyone who is serious about writing and just as serious about the community it takes to be successful and stay sane as a writer.

Marcia LeBeau is a poet who lives in South Orange, NJ with her husband and two sons.

"A great place to set distractions aside and get to the business of getting your work out in the world. A wonderful addition to the writing community!"
